Professor Stephen Hawking is suffering from Motor neuron disease. It is a condition in which a person’s body parts get paralyzed with the course of time and the person can survive maximum 6-7 years.
But, as an astonishing matter of fact, this inspirational person is living with this condition for the last 48 years. He has been spending his life on a wheelchair since the last 42 years, with all the body parts being paralyzed except his sharp mind. Strangely he can’t even speak since 28 years.
Amazingly this disease changed his outlook towards his life and he learned to embrace the importance of obstacles in one’s life. Being a lazy child since childhood he wasn’t really the great student but had a natural flare for mathematics.
He discovered his disease at the tender at age of twenty, which shattered his tender soul, but amazingly, he decided to never give up and still does his best. He might be in a wheelchair and might have to speak through a synthesizer, but he has undoubtedly overcome an obstacle that doctors had never even thought of- to live 48 years with this syndrome.

He still works through his paralyzed body through his working brain, eye movement, and his voice text speech synthesizer and a small computer fixed on his wheelchair, he has been continuously giving his best to the fields of cosmology and quantum gravity, such as theorem of general relativity, black holes, etc.
Also, Stephen Hawking has won numerous prestigious awards, prizes, and medals worldwide for his scientific processes. With his urge to share his life and experiences with the world, Hawking has published to autobiographies, wrote more than 15 books, has the title of the Commander of British Empire and has been awarded 12 honorary degrees.
Yes! he is inspiring. He is motivational and a true hero because he is striving and living at his best even at the worst conditions. In order to enjoy his weightless condition, he took a weightless flight in 2007 which was actually a huge achievement in this condition.
